Tips on Planning an Affordable Wedding

Weddings are often expensive; however, with a little planning and creating a budget, you can have a great wedding and still have money left over for a great future.
Create a Budget
Most importantly, when it comes to planning an affordable wedding you need to create and then stay, with a budget. A budget should be done before you buy anything. If a budget is not made and kept, then you will probably buy things that you won’t need for your wedding. Next, invite only the guests you want and feel comfortable with, at your wedding. This will save you on gifts to buy, food and other expenses. You want to keep your expenses down as much as possible. Purchase a wedding dress that is less costly but one that still looks great. There are several great stores where you can buy beautiful looking white or off-white dresses that are affordable and will fit your needs. Check out some online wedding sites and you may find a great looking gown, at a cost you can afford.
Do-it-Yourself—if you Can
If you can, fix your own hair, write up your own invitations and buy less expensive flowers. This will save you a lot of money and time. You can also save money by going to church in your own car or perhaps borrowing a nice looking car. Stretch limos are expensive and a less expensive car will get you there just as well.
Think about a wedding at a location close to where you will be honeymooning. This kind of location will attract fewer guests and this means you will pay less. And, if you get married in a location where you will be honeymooning, you won’t have to pay extra for travel. In addition, it is best not to get married in the months of June or July. This is a very expensive time to get married. Getting married in months like April or May will reduce some of your wedding costs and will also help with scheduling.
